Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2 is powered by IGT and a sequel to the very popular original. With the same graphics, weird soundtrack and crazy Larry, it has plenty of bonus features as well as a progressive jackpot element. This medium to high variance game has stacked wilds, pick me style features, free spins and 3 jackpots – what more could you want?
Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2 is brought to you by IGT and is a sequel to the very popular land-based favourite. With 5 reels and 40 paylines, you can play from 60p to £300 a spin. Available to play on desktop, mobile and tablet devices, this a progressive jackpot slot with plenty of bonus features.
You trawl the seas for cash with wilds, jackpots and multipliers. As mentioned, there are plenty of bonus features to benefit from as you are taken to a unique location. Let’s take a look at the features:
The main element is the Jackpot feature – the Jackpot header can appear over any symbols (except the Bonus) on any spin in the base game. If you get Jackpot on 3 consecutive spins, you will be guaranteed to win a progressive jackpot with 3 available. You have the Mother Lode, Full Trap and Light Trap jackpots.
Then there is the Multiplier feature which can occur on any spin in the base game, on reel 3, at random. A 5x multiplier can appear over any buoy, boat, lighthouse or boathouse symbol. Alternatively, a 3x multiplier can also appear on all but the boathouse symbol – this multiplier multiplies your win on that particular spin.
Look out for the Lobstermania 2 symbol as this is the Bonus symbol – 3 of these on reels 1, 2 and 4 will trigger the Bonus Picker. You will come across a screen where you have 2 choices. There’s the Lucky Larry’s Buoy Bonus 2 feature or Lucky Lobster’s Free Spins Bonus feature. The picker will then award between 40 and 95 times the coin value before you play out the feature chosen.
The Lucky Larry’s Buoy Bonus 2 feature gives you 3 locations: Brazil, Australia or Maine. You will then get 2 to 4 buoy pocks which each of these containing 2 to 4 lobsters – these can give you between 10 and 575 times your coin value or the Golden Lobster!
The Golden Lobster will award either the Octopus (Brazil), Kangaroo (Australia) or Pelican (Maine) bonus feature depending on the location you picked. The Buoy Bonus feature ends when you start any of the locations with no lobsters remaining. Here are the details of the locations:
- Australia’s Kangaroo Bonus: you can win 50 to 250 times your coin value
- Brazil’s Octopus Bonus: you can win 200 to 1,000 times your coin value as you pick from chests with a multiplier up to 5x.
- Maine’s Pelican Bonus: you can win 160 to 625 times your coin value
Finally you have Lucky Lobster’s Free Spins Bonus feature which can be chosen from the Bonus Picker. You will begin with 5 free spins but the reels are extra rich. Look out for 3 bonus symbols during the feature as they give you an additional 5 free spins – there’s up to 240 free spins to be won too!
I loved the first game and this one is definitely going to be a huge favourite. Variance wise, it’s medium to high so just the way I like it. Lucky Larry’s Lobster Mania 2 has plenty of bonus features but don’t expect to win much on them – you need to bide your time in the hope you find the Golden Lobsters or get plenty of stacked wilds in the free spins feature.
Is it better than the first? Graphically they are the same but it’s kept the same quirky soundtrack and the same feel. It is better in my opinion as it’s slightly more volatile but just as much fun. Thumbs up to IGT for releasing a superb sequel which will surely become just as popular as the original.
