Blackjack

Game Description

From the days of riverboat gambling to the bustling casinos of today’s Las Vegas, Monte Carlo, and Macau, Blackjack has long ranked among the world’s favorite table games. Now, you can experience all the fun and excitement of Blackjack online.

Objective

Blackjack online is based upon the popular casino card game. The Player attempts to win by drawing cards with a value higher than the Dealer’s total without going over twenty-one points. Additional wagers include splitting pairs, doubling down, and insurance.

Rules of Play

Blackjack begins with two cards each dealt to the Player’s and Dealer’s hands from a shoe containing six 52-card decks. The Dealer shows one card face up, while the other remains hidden, face down “in the hole.” Cards numbered 2 thru 10 are counted at face value. The Jack, Queen, and King are valued at ten points each. An Ace may be counted as either one point or eleven points. The Player goes first and always has two options: Draw a card or Stand. When holding a pair of equal cards, two hands may be formed by “Splitting” the pair and wagering an amount equal to the original bet. Re-splitting is not allowed. The Player may also “Double Down” on the first two cards by drawing only one card after doubling the initial amount wagered. Insurance may only be purchased when the Dealer’s up card is an Ace and it wins only if the Dealer has a ten or court card in the hole.

Payouts

Winning wagers on the Player’s hand pay odds of 1-to-1 or even money.  A natural Blackjack (exactly 21 points on two cards) pays 3-to-2 odds, and successful insurance wagers pay 2-to-1. If the Dealer’s and Player’s hands both have the same value, the result is a “Push” with no winner declared; bets are returned.

Enjoy the Game!

In Blackjack strategy is a big part of the game. That means knowing when to hit or stand and under what conditions bigger bets are warranted. Skill and experience are rewarded here, much more so than with other casino table games.
